Casimir Kast has a perspective for continuation: The managing partner Christian Oetker-Kast will take over the business operations from the insolvency administrator Dr Dirk Pehl (Schultze & Braun) as part of a transferred restructuring on 1 January 2026. According to the parties involved, 119 jobs will be retained.

According to the press release, production at the company is continuing without restrictions and new orders are still being accepted.

„I am extremely grateful for the trust that was placed in me with the takeover. We are one hundred per cent behind the company and will do everything we can to make Casimir Kast what it has stood for in its 475-year tradition - quality and customer proximity.“

Downsizing as part of the restructuring programme

According to the announcement, 31 jobs in administration and production are to be cut as part of the restructuring programme. The redundancies are to be implemented via a reconciliation of interests with a social plan, and a transfer company has been set up for those affected. Christian Oetker-Kast commented: „We have found this staff reduction extremely difficult.“

Insolvency administrator Dr Dirk Pehl refers in the press release to an investor process with several interested parties. In the end, Oetker-Kast's concept and offer were convincing.

Significance for packaging production and customer relationships

Casimir Kast develops and produces cardboard and corrugated board packaging at its Gernsbach site, including for market leaders in fast-moving consumer goods as well as brand owners and their agencies. The company describes itself as an expert in offset-laminated corrugated board and says it is seeing positive signals from its customers.

The solution should also bring advantages for creditors: According to the press release, the sale of the business operations will increase the insolvency estate and creditors will be able to continue to utilise business relationships with Casimir Kast in future.
