Ukrainian companies impress at WorldStar Awards

At the WorldStar Awards of the World Packaging Organisation, three companies from Ukraine were delighted to receive an award.

Three companies from Ukraine were honoured with an award at the WorldStar Awards. 435 packaging products from 41 countries were submitted to the World Packaging Organisation competition.

This year, the jury of the WorldStar from 44 leading packaging experts from 45 countries who scrutinised all the samples submitted to the competition in two stages and selected 214 winning packages. These include the biodegradable bag (compostable) for loose products from RPE Aventin LLC from Vyskhorod (Director Denis Lyubenko), the show box from Intpack from Odesa (Director Serhii Guryev), packaging for flavour diffusers and flavour candles TM Ardema VPC Vesna LLC from Dnipro (Director Oleksandr Shoikhet).

For RPE Aventin LLC, this is already the fourth victory for the company in the WorldStar competition. The biodegradable Doy-Pack packaging offers reliable product protection. For the convenience of the consumer, the bag has a transparent window through which the product inside can be seen, a recess for easy opening of the bag and a ZIP closure for repeated opening and closing of the bag in the event of long-term consumption of the contents. The packaging is made from a Combination of four biodegradable materials produced: 60g kraft paper, BoPLA Nativia NTSS, 30μ (biopolymer film, compostable), BoPLA ZIP closures (biopolymer material) and adhesive certified according to DIN 13432. The main advantage of the packaging is the protection of the environment through the complete decomposition of the material into carbon dioxide, water and biomass through microbial consumption and digestion.

This was Intpack's first victory in the WorldStar competition. The high-quality show box packaging for the exclusive hand-scooped chocolate and sweets „Wander“, which won the competition, impressed the judges. It is Ecological, practical and ergonomic. The box is made of European binding cardboard and designer paper and is 100 per cent recyclable. It looks simple from the outside, but all you have to do is open it - and the show begins. When you open the box, you can see how it „blossoms“ with all its four faces and presents every facet in a winning light. The box reliably stores the product, enables the Presentation in the shop window, is used for serving and tasting and cuts a fine figure at family celebrations, buffets and parties.

VPC Vesna LLC also won the WorldStar 2024 competition for the first time. The series of packaging for flavour diffusers and flavour candles TM Ardema is characterised by its laconicism and simplicity, but at the same time harmoniously combines exquisite elements that make it Modern and elegant make. The packaging consists of a single structure for two types of candles and a small container, for which a special insert is used that saves on cardboard and cutting dies. The Packaging design is printed on an offset machine in a single design, and the labels with the various product names are printed on self-adhesive paper on a digital machine. The exclusivity of the packaging consists of a combination of complex design and polygraphic solution, UV varnish printing on metallised cardboard with soft-touch varnish and congruent embossing, the use of Slim technology to reinforce the rigidity of the structure, which gives the packaging an incomparable appearance. The series proves to be simple, concise and elegant at the same time and is also economically feasible for the customer. In addition, the packaging is environmentally friendly, made of cellulose cardboard and suitable for recycling.Ukrainian packaging companies have been taking part in the WorldStar Award since 1998. During this time, 128 packaging samples have been presented. Of these, 64 packaging designs from 25 Ukrainian companies have become winners.
