Plastic-free packaging for the Original Kräuter from Underberg: To mark its 175th anniversary, the traditional brand Underberg is presenting its classic Original Kräuter in a new design at the point of sale and in new, plastic-free packaging from the STI Group. Eye-catching displays were developed to match.

The new anniversary design of Underberg iis a tribute to the „time of new beginnings“ and is based on the founding year of 1846. The move towards sustainability is evident in the packaging for the iconic product in the 12x20ml box. Here, the traditional company is switching from plastic boxes to 100 per cent recyclable cardboard made from FSC-certified material um.

Plastic-free packaging for greater sustainability

Instead of the 12x20ml plastic boxes, Underberg will in future pack the portion bottles in recyclable packaging from the STI Group. The folding boxes, which are coated with water-based gloss varnish, are made from 95 per cent recycled paper.

„The naturalness of the product should also be reflected in the materials for the new packaging.“ Andrea Haslinger, Head of Marketing at Underberg

Display

Just like the packaging, the associated pallet displays are also made from 90 per cent recycled paper-based material and are fully recyclable at the end of the promotional period.

The aim of the relaunch is to gain even greater recognition among the younger target group while remaining true to its origins. To this end, Underberg is presenting its herbal icon in the brand's typical colours, paired with imaginative, colourful elements. Under the motto Pop Art meets German Romanticism the anniversary design focuses on the combination of tradition and modernity.
