Universal Robots, the pioneer of human-robot collaboration, will be represented at interpack 2017 for the first time with its own exhibition stand. The company will be presenting its six-link articulated robots and a pick-and-place application.
The variety of applications for collaborative UR robots in the packaging industry will be demonstrated on site. Whether pick & place, packaging, labelling or palletising: The packaging and logistics sectors are expected to see enormous growth in the coming years. Potential for lightweight robotics and the Human-robot collaboration, This is because current market trends such as booming e-commerce are presenting providers with increasingly complex challenges in order to fulfil ever more individual customer requirements.
The six-link articulated arm robot UR3 (load capacity of 3 kg, working radius of 500 mm), UR5 (load capacity of 5 kg, working radius of 850 mm) and UR10 (load capacity of 10 kg, working radius of 1,300 mm) can work directly next to their human colleagues after successfully completing a risk assessment with no or only minimal protective equipment and relieve them of monotonous and unhealthy activities.
Thanks to their flexibility and simple programming, they offer a cost-effective solution for small and medium-sized companies in particular to realise a higher degree of automation. Customers from a wide range of sectors, from the food and cosmetics industry to biotechnology, rely on UR robots to optimise their packaging processes.
