The US company Valco Melton has developed a method with which stretch film can be completely or partially replaced with adhesive. This palletising adhesive system can reduce the amount of consumables used in transport security by up to 80 percent.

In addition to saving on stretch film, this hotmelt palletising can, according to the manufacturer, be used for certain products. the use of cardboard corners is dispensed with and thus save additional material. The system is also suitable for transporting PET bottles.

Multiple stacking is possible

To prevent damage to corrugated boxes, bags or shrink film, Valco Melton systems use low tack adhesives that make it possible, restack the products several times while retaining their adhesive properties. This means that no stretch film has to be discarded for restacking.

The company's portfolio includes a selection of adhesive melters in various tank sizes, which adapt to the respective process requirements and adhesive types. Hot melt adhesive applicators for dot, bead or spray applications and a pattern controller, which can be used externally or integrated into one of the melters on offer, are the other system components that complete the package for new or existing palletising systems.
