Valmet announces negotiations on possible temporary short-time working measures in Finland. Employees in the Packaging and Paper and Global Supply divisions are affected. The aim is to adjust capacities to the market situation and improve cost efficiency.

The talks are scheduled to begin on 10 November 2025 and will affect around 950 employees - primarily at the Jyväskylä, Tikkurila (Vantaa) and Raisio sites. The planned measures relate to the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and the production units (machine shop and foundry) of P&P Manufacturing in Jyväskylä.

According to the company, the temporary redundancies will be implemented in the first half of 2026. Valmet had already made similar adjustments in previous years in response to the changing market situation.

The Packaging and Paper business is part of the Biomaterial Solutions and Services segment and develops and supplies systems and technologies for cardboard and paper production worldwide. The Global Supply Unit is responsible for purchasing, logistics and production within this segment.
