The ValvoDetect optical measuring system from Greif-Velox ensures clean pallets during powder filling. Sensors check the integrity of the packaging at two points in the filling process.
ValvoDetect from the packaging machine manufacturer Griffin Velox solves a long-standing problem in the filling of powders in the chemical and food sectors: the innovation prevents entire pallets from being repeatedly contaminated by the product leakage of individual faulty bags and thus causing high complaint costs. According to Greif-Velox, it is the first manufacturer to use the optical measuring system offers.
ValvoDetect checks at two points in the filling process whether the bag can be successfully sealed at the end: Using sensors, ValvoDetect recognises on the one hand before bottlingwhether the bag has been picked up correctly or whether this was not possible due to a fault in the valve opening, for example.

A further check using optical sensors takes place before the welding process instead: If the bag is not in the correct position in relation to the welding sonotrodes, this may result in incomplete welding. With the help of ValvoDetect only fully sealed bags reach the pallet. In this way, there is no product leakage and therefore no contamination with serious consequences, such as pest infestation of food products.
For the user, ValvoDetect brings a High savings potentialDepending on the bagging volume, they can save five-digit euro amounts annually in complaint and cleaning costs, as well as reclaiming high four-digit amounts from the bag manufacturer through complaints about faulty bags.
