
Vetropack's Ukrainian production site has been severely damaged by military action. The glass packaging manufacturer had already shut down production last week; no employees were injured.
The glass packaging manufacturer had already started to shut down production at its Ukrainian plant - the PrJSC Vetropack Gostomel near Kiev - shutdown in an organised manner. All employees are temporarily released from work with full pay.

The exact extent of the damage to the plant in Gostomel is not known. „The situation on site is difficult and also dangerous due to possible further military action,“ says Johann Reiter. „It may therefore be a long time before we have a clearer picture of the situation at the site. What is already certain is that parts of production have been severely damaged. One Timely resumption of production is no longer possible."
In Ukraine, Vetropack produces with three melting tanks and eight production lines for different types of glass packaging. The site in Gostomel is one of nine European production plants of the Vetropack-Group. Glass has been manufactured there since 1912.
In 2021, Vetropack Gostomel contributed with around 10 per cent of sales and EBITDA of the Vetropack Group. Vetropack Group took over the site in 2006 as part of its continuous growth strategy.
