A breath of fresh air for the packaging world! The Students Day at FACHPACK 2025 brings students from packaging degree programmes together with companies - and shows it: The next generation is here, and it is highly motivated.

In an interview with Dr Natalie Brandenburg, Managing Director of the German Packaging Institute (dvi), we find out why the dvi actively promotes this exchange and what role formats such as the Students Day play in recruiting young talent.

However, the students themselves take centre stage: Why did they decide to study packaging? What experiences have they had - and what do they want for their professional future?

We talk about career prospects, the increased relevance of sustainability, interdisciplinary training - and the great opportunity that lies in combining research, practice and industry.

The article shows that packaging is not just technology, it is the future. And it needs people who want to help shape this future.
