Kingsland Drinks and the British wine brand Vinca have agreed a strategic partnership to secure Vinca's further growth in the canned wine segment. The aim is to support increasing demand and planned expansions with scalable production capacities.

As part of the collaboration, Kingsland Drinks will take over the bottling of Vinca wines in cans. The brand currently sells organic wines from Sicily in various formats, including red, white and rosé wines in 187 ml cans and sparkling wines in 200 ml cans. According to the company, the products are now available from more than 100 retailers and drinks specialists and are also used in the catering, travel and event sectors.

Scaling through high-speed filling line

In order to secure the planned growth rates, Vinca opted for a production partner with the appropriate technical equipment. Kingsland Drinks had invested in a high-speed canning line at the Salford site in recent years. According to the company, the line enables an annual capacity of up to 26 million cans in various sizes between 150 ml and 330 ml. Further investments are planned to increase capacity again from 2026.

Kingsland Drinks sees the market for canned drinks continuing to grow in line with changing consumer and social habits. According to the company, aspects such as convenience, recyclability and sustainability are becoming increasingly important to consumers.

Sustainability and packaging solutions

Vinca was founded five years ago and positions itself as a sustainable alternative to classic glass wine bottles. According to the company, only 100 per cent recyclable materials are used. In addition to filling cans, Kingsland Drinks also works with packaging manufacturer MM Packaging. Together, they have developed a fully closed, FSC-certified carton that serves as both transport and shelf packaging for canned wines and ready-to-drink products.

Kingsland Drinks emphasises that partnerships with growth-oriented brands are the focus of its corporate strategy. The existing infrastructure is intended to support brands in particular during phases of strong expansion in wine, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
