The digital reusable system for the to-go consumption of food and drinks from the Cologne-based sustainability start-up Vytal was awarded the Blue Angel eco-label by Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze at a reusable picnic today.

Just in time for the EU-wide ban on single-use plastic, which comes into force on Saturday 3 July 2021 and also applies to food boxes and polystyrene coffee cups, the Federal Environment Ministry is underlining the importance of reusable solutions in the fight against single-use packaging waste.

The Blue Angel was awarded at a reusable picnic organised by Vytal. The event also focussed on what a successful path to a future could look like in which reusable packaging becomes the standard in everyday life and is also used in supermarkets and for take-away and delivery meals.

Vytal users can also conveniently return their reusable containers to one of the more than 1,300 Vytal partners in Germany and Austria, as well as in Cologne, via the Gorillas delivery driver.
