Walki has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in folian GmbH, a specialist in flexible packaging. The company intends to strengthen its position in Central Europe by signing the final agreement. folian GmbH also complements Walki's product portfolio.
The family-owned company, folian GmbH, supplies blue-chip brands in the food industry with pioneering flexible packaging solutions. The company is specialises in the production of high-quality processed flexible films using flexographic printing and other downstream finishing services. In 2021, folian generated a turnover of 27 million euros. folian is based in Stralsund, Germany and employs around 94 people.

Folian will continue to Growth in the flexible packaging business of Walki and part of the global Consumer Packaging business unit will be realised. The transaction is still subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or the terms of the transaction.
