Certified water-based colour mixing system

In order to investigate and improve the impact of all components of the colour mixing system on the environment with a holistic approach, Hubergroup worked with the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute together. The institute is committed to promoting innovation for a circular economy and awards certifications based on the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard, which includes comprehensive criteria in the categories of material health, recyclability, use of renewable energy & carbon management, responsible water management and compliance with social standards. All components of the new colour mixing system received the Cradle to Cradle Certified certification Bronze.

„Through the external assessment, we want to give our customers transparency and certainty about the environmental impact of our paints. However, it was also important to us that the certification has no influence on the use of our products. Printers who want to use the Cradle to Cradle Certified products in our Hydro-X series, do not have to reorganise their processes and can expect the same good performance and shelf life as before. Brand owners can use the same designs and packaging formats as before - just more sustainably,“ says Dr Christian Schirrmacher.
