The Italian packaging manufacturer AMB Spa now relies entirely on water-based printing inks and has recently invested in a second 8-colour flexographic printing press.
AMB has recently expanded its range of services to include water-based flexographic printing and now utilises All plastic film processes with water-based systems around. The environmentally friendly range of services in the printing segment covers the entire process chain - from the initial design to high-quality water-based flexographic printing.
The print results with water-based printing inks are impressive with their rich, razor-sharp colours. Sharp colours and photographic details. The process can be used for resealable films, PET sealing materials, the use of matt varnishes and for creating paper haptics. AMB's all-in-one service covers a wide range of sustainable printing applications, including Printing of bottom webs made of rigid film as well as top webs, flowpacks, labels or paper.
By using this pioneering water-based technology, customers can optimise their own environmental footprint and expand their business to include a customer base that attaches importance to greater sustainability.

The Italian family business combines design, pre-press, plate production and printing under one roof. This simplifies the process and supply chains and ensures faster execution and a smooth market launch. This flexibility makes it easier for customers to realise small print runs, product variants, seasonal editions or trade promotions, among other things.
Productivity maximised with water-based technology
AMB has increased its printing capacity by 150 per cent to 28 million metres per year, which can be produced in widths between 300 mm and 1250 mm. To achieve this, the company recently invested in a Bobst Expert CI printing machine, a second 8-colour flexographic printing press that replaces the one used at the AMB plant in San Daniele del Friuli. Comexi Flexo F2 WB supplemented.
Water-based printing inks for a competitive advantage
Both printing presses underline AMB's sustainability strategy: in 2014, the packaging specialist was Pioneer in Europe in the use of water-based packaging solutions - a process that completely eliminates the use of solvents.
The water-based technology for packaging and printing offers a real competitive advantage, z. For example, for manufacturers of high-quality food, companies with a green sustainability strategy and businesses that want to fulfil the increasingly strict packaging requirements of the EU. The innovative solution also reduces overall energy consumption and minimises waste.
