Krones Factory Planning looks at the entire value chain of its customers and advises them on how their operations can be optimised across the entire production process. Recovering and recycling energy and water can. Steinecker and Milkron also offer various approaches to optimise the production process of dairy products and alternatives, juices or soft drinks in a targeted and sustainable manner. Specific examples of implementation include HydroCircle, a complete concept for waste water recycling, as well as special heat swing systems or the Use of heat pumps for sustainable energy recovery.

The possibility of utilising synergies Krones not only in specific solutions for its customers, but also in the development of new systems and technologies. The most recent example comes from Steinecker. This is where the Knowledge and technology from the fermentation of beer in combination with Krones' aseptic expertise and adapted to the cell-based manufacture of new products. Both precision fermentation and cell cultivation can be realised in the Steinecker bioreactor. This enables the production of new food products such as alternative protein sources for meat substitutes as well as whey and egg proteins. In a recent collaboration with the Swiss start-up Food Brewer, various new food products are now being produced. tested use cases and also made the technology available to other companies for their own formulations and trials.

The company also offers a wide range of solutions for further process technology: starting with the system planning and Milkron's engineering services for specific systems such as the HLI90 high-performance homogeniser from HST or the VarioAsept D direct heating system from Krones, to the broad portfolio of pumps and valves from Evoguard and Ampco, for both septic and aseptic applications. Krones also addresses the drivers of safety and sustainability in the subsequent filling and packaging processes: for example with Filling valves specially designed for the respective end product for the highest quality when filling dairy products and alternatives, juices or sauces.
