Weber Food Technology presented pioneering solutions for food processing at IFFA 2025. The focus was on digital system integration, customised lines and a world record attempt with a newly developed picking robot.

IFFA, which takes place every three years, is regarded as the central international trade fair for the meat industry. Weber Food Technology used the platform to present technical innovations and to seek direct dialogue with trade visitors from Germany and abroad. The generously designed stand in Hall 12.1 emphasised the importance of the event for the company.

Focus on a solution-oriented approach

As CEO Tobias Weber explained, the company is consistently focussing on customer-specific complete solutions. The aim is to offer not just individual machines, but coordinated complete systems that combine efficiency, simple operation and cost optimisation.

Digitalisation, system integration and user-friendliness

During the trade fair presentation, it became clear that Weber Food Technology sees key topics such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence and sustainability as integral components of its product development. Corresponding systems are developed and embedded in existing lines in the company's own „digital factory“.

One advantage of these system approaches is the reduction in complexity: functions that would be required for individual machines can be organised more efficiently in a network or eliminated altogether. This reduces costs and simplifies operation.

New picking robot in world record attempt

A technical highlight on the stand was the new picking robot, with which Weber Food Technology is attempting a world record in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University. The mechanical structure is based on a tree-like design. Simulation-based optimisations have led to improved vibration damping and a higher working speed. According to the company, the new robot significantly outperforms previous systems in the segment.

High response from new customers

In addition to existing customers, the company was able to attract numerous new potential customers at IFFA. In particular, the new „Meal Assembly“ product line, which is marketed beyond the traditional cold cuts sector, helped to open up additional market segments. Vouchers were used to target previously unregistered contacts. According to Weber, the focus is on deepening existing markets rather than on geographical expansion.
