Mike Petersen joined the management of Moritz J. Weig GmbH and Buchmann GmbH on 1 February 2025.
Alongside Xaver Weig, he is responsible for the European packaging market and the strategic development of the Group in this area.
With more than 30 years of experience in the paper and packaging industry, Petersen brings extensive expertise in the areas of business development, market development and optimisation of international sales structures. Most recently, he was Managing Director of the Mayr-Melnhof cartonboard mill in Gernsbach. He previously held management positions at the Leipa Group, the Prinzhorn Group and Mondi.
Strengthened management structure in the Weig Group
With the appointment of Mike Petersen to the management board, Moritz J. Weig is handing over the operational management of the cartonboard mills and will in future concentrate on tasks within the Weig holding company.
