Westfalia Technologies GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting solutions for the automated storage of packaging, corrugated board and films at the FACHPACK 2025 trade fair in Nuremberg. The aim is to avoid material damage, speed up processes and optimise the use of space.
Manual storage systems often reach their limits in production and dispatch logistics for packaging, corrugated cardboard and films. Different formats, sensitive materials and limited space lead to space problems and increase the risk of damage. At FACHPACK 2025 (23-25 September, Hall 7, Stand 534), Westfalia Technologies GmbH & Co. KG will be demonstrating how automated high-performance warehouses can solve these challenges.
The systems from Westfalia are designed for unusual formats and high loads. Thanks to precise control, SKU support on the Satellit® load handling device and multi-deep storage channels, damage and material losses are minimised. According to the company, pallets can be used for longer and load units can sometimes be stored entirely without pallets, which reduces material wear and extends the service life of packaging.
Flexible utilisation of storage space
The storage solutions enable space-saving, vertical storage from a height of just a few metres and even with low storage space capacities. They can be positioned close to production and processing lines, which shortens material routes and makes interim storage more efficient. Thanks to their scalability, companies can plan batches of any size more flexibly, purchase paper and raw materials more cheaply in stock and produce at different times.
Westfalia emphasises that the systems allow production, storage and distribution to be bundled at one location, which reduces transport costs and emissions. In addition to new systems, the company offers modernisations, conversions and extensions to make existing systems more efficient and sustainable.
With practically developed technologies and the Savanna.NET® warehouse execution system, companies can react to demand in real time, streamline processes and utilise warehouse capacities dynamically. Westfalia wants to show how warehouse automation in the packaging industry can sustainably increase efficiency, profitability and quality.
