At the Glass 2025 Trend Day, to which the Glass Packaging Action Forum invited guests to Munich this year, the winners of the Glass Product Innovation were once again announced and the public's favourite was chosen. packaging journal was there.
Every year, the award honours the best product innovations in the two categories „Small companies“ and „Medium and large companies“. An independent jury had previously selected a total of Six new products nominated and two winners chosen.

In the „Small Companies“ category, the young company Wonderland Spirits won the race with its Ready-to-drink cocktail scarto apri-te. The drink is bottled in a striking glass container reminiscent of a perfume bottle. With a wooden cap and a minimalist paper label with oversticker, the packaging is both high-quality and sustainable. This is part of the company's philosophy, because a consistent Zero-waste concept is the basis of the products.

In the „Medium and large companies“ category, the award went to the C. & A. Veltins brewery for its Helles Lager in an innovative 0.275 litre returnable bottle. The container size is unusual in Germany and is intended to appeal to a young target group. The jury praised the innovative approach and the successful brand presentation.

The participants of the Glass Trend Day also chose from the nominated products the NextGen bottle Carl Kühne KG's favourite with the public. The company had recently completely rethought the design for its dressing packaging and now not only saves material thanks to the new round shape, but also optimises logistics. At the same time, production benefits from a higher throughput on the filling lines. A clever step towards conserving resources along the entire value chain, according to both the jury and the audience.

Also nominated were the Kölsche Koks Espresso Martini Shot from Kölsche Koks GmbH, a bar classic in a new, portionable shot format and Wylda from Rheinland Distillers GmbH, a distillate made from botanicals without alcohol in a semi-transparent dark apothecary bottle. Also nominated was the Organic [dzin] Bitter from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger GmbH in an elegant glass bottle with a high-quality printed label and cork.
The award ceremony was preceded by a high-calibre programme, which included an exciting Keynote speech by ifo President Prof Clemens Fuest on the current state of the German economy. Also: a vivid overview on the status of the PPWR by Carl Dominik Klepper from Allianz Verpackung und Umwelt (AVU), which latest Shopper Insights by Anna-Katharina Kraus, GFK/YouGov and a Journey through the Darknet, to which IT specialist Tobias Schrödel took the audience.
