World first at the IFFA

Provisur Technologies is presenting a world first for food processing at IFFA with the Formax Free Movement FMS handling system.

Provisur Technologies is presenting a world first in the field of production systems for industrial food processing at IFFA. The Formax Free Movement FMS handling system reduces space requirements by 50 per cent and is characterised in particular by its handling and buffer plate and the transport unit.

With the Formax FMS, Provisur Technologies has developed a compact handling system that reduces the space required by around 50 per cent compared to conventional systems. The centrepiece of the system consists of a handling and buffer plate and the transport units, known as movers. In the design, the Space-saving and reliable electronics underneath the stainless steel worktop positioned.

The movers are equipped with attachments that are customised to the product size. Three sizes are currently available, which can hold products weighing up to 0.5 kg, 1 kg or 1.5 kg. The Transport units move on magnetic fieldsThey float contactlessly over the flat surface and require no guidance in the form of rails, conveyor belts or similar. They achieve a high speed: up to 100 portions per minute can be processed continuously. The system makes it possible to flexibly produce multi-variety portions in a small space

The principle of magnetic technology gives the handling system flexibility and eliminates the need for additional modules: The movers can move to any point on the work surface and can be freely rotated. This makes it easier to pick up the sliced products for transport: the system can optionally be equipped with a camera. This transmits the exact position of the portions to the mover, which aligns itself precisely before picking up the product. A In this way, the skew of the portion of up to +/- 10° can be automatically corrected. are optimised. This means that the transported food always arrives in the optimum orientation for transfer to the packaging.

After the product transfer from the slicer to the movers, the system forms a buffer for loading pauses, which are required for loading new products into the slicer. During the changeover breaks, the buffer discharges so that a Continuous product flow to the packaging system guaranteed is. No change to the system design is required for a new article or a different packaging variant, just a programme change. Thanks to its networking capability, the handling system fulfils the requirements of production data management in the context of Industry 4.0 solutions.

"The new Formax Free Movement System (FMS) is a real innovation - a handling system that fulfils the constantly growing requirements of the food industry thanks to its compact design, unique flexibility and outstanding hygiene properties."
