2020 has highlighted the importance of toilet and kitchen paper as indispensable and essential products in the everyday lives of people in Germany. After weeks of hoarding, the situation has stabilised. Nevertheless, this exceptional situation will be remembered for a long time to come.
Although the rush was great, production in Mannheim-Waldhof ran smoothly. At the Essity plant there - the former Waldhof pulp factory, which gave the Zewa brand its name - Zewa toilet paper and Zewa Wisch&Weg are produced. Production of the limited editions to mark the brand's 60th anniversary is currently in full swing.

The limited editions from Zewa have been given a colourful and flowery makeover to mark the anniversary and in keeping with the brand's origins. They revive the style of the 60s. The products are not only 100 per cent biodegradable. They can also be the packaging can also be fully recycled. Furthermore Since the beginning of 2020, all Zewa packaging has contained over 30 per cent recycled plastic (recyclate).
Zewa is thus taking the next step in its sustainability endeavours, which have already been driven forward by products such as Zewa Smart and Zewa Wisch&Weg Sparblatt. The Interaction of missing cardboard sleeve and reduced plastic content at Zewa Smart protects the environment and conserves resources. The more compact packaging alone saves 40 per cent less plastic. Zewa Wisch&Weg economy paper with divisible sheets reduces consumption. This is good for the environment. Only as many sheets are used as are actually needed.
[infotext icon]The history of Zewa began in 1960 with the commissioning of the first tissue machine in Mannheim-Waldhof. The first Zewa branded article was a toilet roll with the name Zewa, which also gave an indication of its place of manufacture: the Zellstoff factory Waldhof. Twelve years later, the Zewa Wisch&Weg kitchen roll followed, for which the brand name became a household name[/infotext].SourceZewa Wisch&Weg
