The „Beverage Can Forum“ at IFAT 2018 will dedicate five days to the „most recycled beverage packaging in the world“. The Metal Packaging Europe association confidently emphasises this. At the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management from 14 to 18 May 2018 in Munich, the association, in cooperation with the Federal Association of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management Industry (BDE), will be demonstrating in Hall B4 what aluminium beverage cans are capable of, particularly with regard to the circular economy.

Offered to the IFAT-visitors on a virtual journey with VR 360-degree technology along the aluminium material flow. Stops on the journey are the production of Aluminium cans, recycling and finally the Reprocessing of the recycled material.

2.51 billion aluminium cans were consumed per year in Germany in 2016, according to the Forum Beverage Can. 99 per cent of them are recycled. „In a way, the beverage can is a pioneer of the Circular economy. Aluminium is a permanent material that can be melted down and recycled almost indefinitely thanks to its stable chemical compounds, says Stephan Rösgen, Managing Director of the Beverage Can Forum, pointing out the advantages of the material.

The Beverage Can Forum includes the Ardagh Group, the manufacturer Ball Packaging Europe and the Crown Holding.
