Coveris presents new recyclable packaging solutions for cheese at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards 2025. The ICDA is recognised as the world's largest platform for top products from the dairy industry.

Coveris will be presenting its latest packaging innovations in the cheese sector at the Staffordshire County Showground on 25 and 26 June. The event is part of the International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA), which, with over 5,500 entries every year, is recognised as the most important stage for manufacturers of cheese and dairy products worldwide.

According to Coveris, the focus is on solutions such as MonoFlexBE, a PE-based mono-material packaging for grated cheese that offers comparable barrier properties to conventional packaging but is fully recyclable. The packaging is already being used by major British retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's and ASDA and is also designed to significantly reduce plastic weight and CO₂ emissions.

PolyFlex - an alternative solution to nylon/PE laminates based on extruded high-barrier films - will also be presented. According to the company, this packaging is recyclable and can reduce the carbon footprint by up to 36 % and the weight by up to 13 %. Coveris was recognised for this concept at the UK Packaging Awards 2024.

The company will also be presenting new packaging combinations for sliced cheese, such as the recyclable monomaterial solution consisting of PolyFlex lidding film and MonoFlex tray. A newly developed, peelable MonoFlexBE lidding film will also be presented.
