The Belgian investment company Gimv has signed an agreement to sell its majority stake in ALT Technologies to CCL Industries. ALT is an internationally active provider of self-adhesive, die-cut and printed components and supplies the packaging and labelling industry with functional marking and material solutions, among others.
ALT Technologies develops technical labels, multilayer adhesive laminates and functional components for demanding applications. Together with Gimv, ALT has expanded its production structure in Europe and Asia and also established a site for the North American market.
Expertise in converting
CCL Industries is a global manufacturer of labels and labelling solutions and supplies packaging manufacturers and brand owners in numerous industries. The acquisition strengthens CCL's Automotive, Electronics & Durables division, which operates under the name CCL Design and specialises in durable high-performance labels and functional materials. ALT complements CCL's existing portfolio in particular with its expertise in converting, technically sophisticated labels and its international presence.
„During our partnership, ALT has expanded its existing production sites in Europe and Asia and also built a new plant for the American market. As a result, the company has developed into a global specialist for technically sophisticated labels and components for safety-relevant applications. As part of the CCL Group, ALT will benefit from new opportunities and the expertise that comes with being part of a larger organisation.“
