Mondi is further developing its corrugated board plants in Germany. The packaging and paper manufacturer is investing in the Greven site in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ebersdorf bei Coburg site in Bavaria to optimise production processes, increase efficiency, and secure the long-term competitiveness of the plants.
According to the company, existing production facilities will be modernised at both sites and central processes further developed. The aim is to increase production reliability and ensure consistently high quality of corrugated board packaging.
Focus on automation and process optimisation
At the Ebersdorf site, Mondi is focusing particularly on expanding pallet-free production. According to the company, this should simplify internal processes, improve material flows, and utilise resources more efficiently. In Greven, Mondi is increasingly relying on additional automation solutions. These are intended to reduce material waste and increase process stability.
In addition, the company is building its own sales team in Greven. Closer integration of sales and production is intended to enable quicker processing of customer inquiries and support the development of customer-specific packaging solutions.
Occupational safety as a further focus
Alongside technical investments, measures to improve health and safety protection are a key focus. According to the company, Mondi is adapting the safety standards at both sites to the group-wide specifications and supplementing these with training programmes for employees. The aim is stable and reliable production processes.
„The further developments at the Greven and Ebersdorf sites allow us to permanently offer our customers high product quality, reliable delivery services, and resource-efficient production processes. At the same time, they strengthen our presence in the area of corrugated board solutions in Germany and support long-term, dependable partnerships with our customers.“
