The Swissplast Group has acquired the essential assets and business operations of the insolvent Durotherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH. Within the scope of the self-administration proceedings, the two German sites in Haiterbach and Lindlar are to be retained, existing customer relationships continued, and a large proportion of jobs safeguarded.
With the completion of the transaction, Durotherm's business will continue in a successor company within the Swissplast Group. According to the company, operational business activities will continue without interruption. The business operations will also be maintained without restriction for customers, suppliers, and employees.
The integration of the locations has priority
According to the Swissplast Group, the integration of the two production sites is to be driven forward with high priority in the coming weeks. The aim is to stabilise the organisation, exploit synergies, and restore delivery capability and service quality. The transition for customers, employees, suppliers, and other business partners should be made as uncomplicated and transparent as possible.
The administrator and the creditors„ committee welcomed the successful conclusion of the proceedings. It stated: “The industry solution found has created a sustainable future for the company, its employees, and its customers. The conditions for the successful continuation of business operations have been met."
Swissplast Group focuses on long-term further development

It was clear to us from the outset that this was not just about production capacities, but about responsibility for people, customers, and an entire industry.“
They go on to explain: „The thermoforming industry, especially in challenging times, needs entrepreneurs who take responsibility. Our goal is to develop the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites sustainably, offer customers stability, and provide employees with a long-term perspective.“
The owner-managed Swissplast Group operates production sites in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria and, according to its own figures, employs more than 350 people. The company develops and produces technical thermoformed parts, packaging solutions, workpiece carriers, and assemblies for various industries.
