Thimm: Holledau corrugated board plant officially opened
Thimm Verpackung celebrated the official opening of one of the most modern corrugated cardboard plants in Europe on 15 and 16 September in Holledau, Bavaria.

Thimm Verpackung celebrated the official opening of one of the most modern corrugated cardboard plants in Europe on 15 and 16 September in Holledau, Bavaria.
According to Thimm, the new plant is characterised by the latest generation of production technologies, efficient and highly automated processes as well as a flexible, customer-oriented organisation with comprehensive service and is one of the most advanced plants in Europe.

In addition to a High-tech corrugator rotary and flatbed die-cutters of the latest generation were also installed at the new Wolnzach site. The different systems complement each other perfectly, so that Various packaging formats in different print runs cost-optimised can be produced. It is also possible to die-cut complex designs with sophisticated perforations (e.g. for shelf-ready packaging). A special feature is the high degree of automation and the semi-autonomous set-up process on the rotary die-cutter.

The Favourable geographical location of the plant between Munich and Nuremberg connects important economic centres in Germany and neighbouring foreign markets. Thimm is thus strengthening its own production network with eight locations in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. Customers in Germany as well as in Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland can expect a high level of delivery reliability, particularly thanks to the network with the sister plants in Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Všetaty (Czech Republic).

Currently, 26,000 square metres of the 90,000 square metre site have been built on. Series production has been running since February 2017.
