Anheuser-Busch is increasing its investments in the USA, focusing on packaging and production. The brewing group announced it will invest a total of 600 million US dollars in its sites.
Anheuser-Busch is significantly increasing its investments in its US operations, with a focus on expanding production and packaging capacities. According to the company, the funds will be used for modern technology systems, site upgrades, and strengthening supply chains, among other things. The aim is to make the production and bottling of core brands more efficient.
Packaging as a central part of the investment
A significant portion of the investment is allocated to the expansion and modernisation of packaging infrastructure. According to the company, this includes measures to increase filling capacity and optimise packaging processes in the breweries. These are intended in particular to increase production capacities for high-volume brands such as Michelob Ultra.
According to the company, 99 percent of all beer sold in the USA is already produced domestically. The investments are intended to further consolidate this structure and strengthen the competitiveness of the sites.
Qualification for modern packaging processes
Alongside this, Anheuser-Busch is investing in the qualification of its employees, also with a view to increasingly automated production and packaging systems. The plan is to open 15 technical training centers at US locations. Employees will be trained there in, amongst other things, digital applications, mechanical systems, and modern manufacturing processes.
Focus on skilled workers and supply chains
Alongside technical modernisational, the company is focusing on expanding its pool of skilled workers. Cooperations with vocational schools are intended to help close qualification gaps and specifically build competences for industrial processes, including packaging.
Furthermore, cooperation with the Heroes Make America initiative will continue to facilitate the transition of former military personnel into industrial roles. These programmes also aim to ensure the necessary personnel are available to operate modern production and packaging facilities, it is stated.
