Whether there is little foam or a lush crown: for beer lovers, this says a lot about how appetising and high-quality a drink looks. O-I, the world's largest manufacturer of glass containers, has therefore designed a special bottle that allows beer to be poured more precisely.
Pouring plays a special role for premium beers in the craft beer and gourmet beer segment, where consumption is truly celebrated by the customer. The special feature of the new „Artesanal 500“ standard bottle is that the Asymmetrically shaped bottle neck is. The slim bottle neck has a diagonal connection between the bottle body and the bottle opening on one side. This allows you to influence the way the beer flows into the glass when pouring, depending on the rotation and angle of the bottle.
This special bottle shape, which is now being used by breweries in South America and has been available in selected shops in Brazil since last autumn, was developed by O-I. Two beer brands from Paraná in Brazil, „Von Borstel“ from Londrina and „Bodebrown“ from Curitiba, are using the new shape to give their customers a More precise pouring and thus a special serving experience.
Unique selling point on the market
For the European market, O-I is currently exploring the potential and demand from German breweries that MyPour-Form to differentiate their own brand from the market. „This new speciality is particularly interesting for Microbreweries and Niche provider. We know that craft beer and gourmet beer customers have a special relationship with the drink, and now we want to deepen this experience even further and redesign the serving process with the MyPour mould,“ explains Steffi Lenz, Project Manager at O-I.
