From 9 to 11 April 2019, Powtech 2019 will showcase innovations for the process industry in the fields of bulk solids, powder and granules. The exhibitors will present systems and machines for mechanical processes such as comminution, agglomeration, separation, sieving, mixing, storage and conveying.
The organising NuernbergMesse GmbH expects good visitor and exhibitor numbers again this year. Last autumn, 80 percent of the exhibition space was already occupied. The Hall area covers a total of over 23,000 square metres. This year, Hall 5 has been integrated into the trade fair in addition to the established Halls 1, 2, 3, 4 and 4A.
Both the audience and the exhibitors will once again be very international. At the previous Powtech In 2017, 39 per cent of exhibitors and 40 per cent of visitors came from abroad. Companies from 27 countries have registered so far.

Explosion demonstrations at the exhibition centre
Explosions will be heard again and again at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre during Powtech. Because in the Trade fair park there are daily live explosion demonstrations. The aim is to draw attention to the important topic of explosion protection.
In two Specialist forums topics from the fields of food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, glass-ceramics, building materials and recycling will be discussed. The Expert Forum in Hall 2 is dedicated to presentations and discussions on the main topics of food and chemicals. In Hall 3, the forum „Pharma.Manufacturing.Excellence“ is being organised. The lecture organiser there is the Working Group for Pharmaceutical Process Engineering (APV).
Networking Campus offers young ideas a stage
Brand new is the „Networking Campus“. This is where young researchers, start-ups and developers will present their ideas for the particle and bulk solids technology of the future. The centrepiece of the campus is an open lecture stage. Here, participants will contribute to an interactive programme based on the barcamp principle.

There are six subject areas BarcampsEnergy storage and conversion, circular economy, additive manufacturing, „Digitalisation/digital transformation in the bulk solids sector“, „Human plus cobot“ and „Virtual, augmented, mixed reality: opportunities and limits in bulk solids operations“. Participants can contribute to the barcamps with short presentations, workshops and discussions, poster presentations and table exhibitions.
250 presentations at the Partec Congress
The international congress „Partec“ for particle technology is held parallel to Powtech, which is organised every two years. Its motto is „Particles for a better Life“. 500 participants are expected to attend the VDI Society for Process and Chemical Engineering (VDI-GVC) as the organiser of its congress.
There are more than 250 lectures at the Partec Congress to listen to. The Executive Committee headed by Professor Stefan Heinrich has invited six speakers from the USA, the UK, Australia and Germany to give keynote speeches. The keynotes cover a wide range of topics and touch on fields of application such as additive manufacturing and CO2 reduction.
