Siko will be exhibiting bus-compatible position indicators and actuators at FachPack 2019. The Buchenbach-based manufacturer is particularly emphasising the smart AP10 position indicator and the AG03/1 actuator. These are now equipped with an IO-Link interface.

Increase efficiency, reduce set-up times

Siko components support users in making format adjustments more efficient and reliable. Modern production systems for ever smaller batch sizes can be flexibly converted in this way. As the position indicator reports the positioning status back to the machine control system, the Increased process reliability and the Changeover time optimised.

The IO-Link connection technology enables the sensors to be easily integrated into a Point-to-point connection. As the standard is open and manufacturer-independent, all conventional machine control systems from different manufacturers can be integrated. Several AP10 position indicators can be modularly networked via IO-Link master islands. The IO-Link master allows parameter data to be read from a field device, saved and loaded into a new, identical device in the event of replacement - even while the process is running.

Electronic type plate for condition monitoring

The IO-Link interface also provides the electronic nameplate feature for Siko position indicators and actuators. This means that the devices integrated in this way can be used for tasks such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in centralised higher-level systems and also in the cloud.

Display

The AP10 position indicator exchanges set values, actual position values and the positioning status with the higher-level machine control system. This turns manual spindle adjustment into a monitored process. In the AP10S version with externally connectable magnetic sensor, linear positions can also be detected and displayed with an accuracy of +/- 35 micrometres.

The new IO-Link actuator AG03/1 is again characterised by its Very compact design out. Even with two axes only 37 millimetres apart, the actuators do not interfere with each other. The actuator integrates the position measuring system, the complete control electronics and the IO-Link interface in a compact housing just 80 millimetres deep. The absolute magnetic measuring system provides high-resolution position values with 1,600 steps per revolution.

Like all Siko position indicators and actuators, the AP10 and AG03/1 are also designed with a hollow shaft to minimise the risk of damage. Simple assembly to commercially available adjustment axles.
