Illig Maschinenbau GmbH & Co, Heilbronn, is presenting several technological world premieres at K 2019: New IML-T® Cardboard application saves 60 per cent plastic and can be easily separated by type. The new IC-RDKL 80 thermoforming system is used to produce decorated IML-T®-lid made from R-PET.

The system supplier of machines and tools for thermoforming plastics presents several world firsts from its tool and mechanical engineering development programme before. Among other things, the simple Recyclable plastic-cardboard composite packaging IML-T® Cardboard, a brilliant double-sided decoratable packaging that is characterised by the simple separation of the plastic inlay and cardboard wrapping.

The company developed this packaging solution with an interdisciplinary Illig Pactivity®-team of experts according to the requirements of „Circular Thinking!“. This solution is available on all Illig IML-T®-systems and opens up new possibilities for decoration technology in thermoforming.

Brilliant lid decoration with IML-T for the first time®

With a further IML-T®-premiere R-PET cups with easy-to-remove paper labels presented. This application is complemented by another technological milestone in thermoforming. Presented for the first time at K 2019, the new IC-RDKL 80 thermoforming system produces brilliantly decorated lids made of R-PET, coordinated with the decorated R-PET cups. Illig is thus The world's only supplier of multiple IML-T® thermoforming systems from a single source and is responding to the increased demand for IML-T® applications with these new developments.

Display

Another world premiere is the presentation of the first fourth-generation thermoforming system. The new IC-RDM 76K production system has a high output, a completely new drive system and a significantly higher clamping force. At the trade fair, the machine will produce Drinking cup made from recycled PET.
