Leuze Electronic presents the smallest sensor for storage and retrieval machines at SPS 2019

Leuze Electronic will be presenting innovations for the "Smart Factory" at SPS 2019, including the IPS 400i positioning sensor for storage and retrieval machines. For automated guided vehicles (AGVs), Leuze is presenting the RSL 400 safety laser scanner and the OGS 600 sensor.

Various innovations on the subject of "Smart Factory" shows Leuze Electronic on the SPS 2019. In addition, visitors to the stand will be presented with occupational safety and intralogistics solutions.

As one of the Intralogistics-Leuze Electronic is promoting the IPS 400i and CMS 700i systems under the heading of "bright lights". The IPS 400i is a variant of the IPS series for optical double-deep compartment fine positioning. It is described as the world's smallest camera-based positioning sensor for storage and retrieval machines. It detects circular holes or reflectors in both single-deep and double-deep bars.

The CMS 700i is once again a newly developed 3D contour measuring systemwhich is based on its CML 730i measuring light curtains and enables error-free storage of goods. The complete system includes all components, the control cabinet, fastening elements and connection technology, and can be configured to customer specifications.

Components for production in the smart factory

Leuze Electronic will also be presenting its vision for intelligent production in the "Smart Factory" at the SPS stand. This is where production systems and Logistics systems in the future without human intervention. Driverless transport systems (AGVs) carry out logistics tasks independently and navigate automatically. Leuze electronic supports vehicles that navigate on the basis of natural environmental features with two innovative products: The RSL 400 safety laser scanner and the OGS 600.

Display

The RSL 400 combines safety technology with a high-quality measured value output for AGVs in one compact device. This enables reliable protection and navigation. Parallel monitoring of several protective fields safely reduces the speed of an automated guided vehicle system. These new functions are also available as a device variant with Profinet/Profisafe interface and thus enable particularly easy integration into industrial networks. An AIDA-compliant version is also available for the automotive industry.

Navigation via flexible, optical lane guidance

Alternatively, the navigation of automated guided vehicle systems for the transport of materials and goods can be solved using flexible, optical track guidance. For this purpose, Leuze electronic offers the OGS 600 a compact Sensor. Thanks to its edge detection and the sending of control signals to the drive, the track can be optically guided so that driving can be easily automated. The routes of the driverless transport systems can be optimised through optimised Track tapes can be flexibly adapted. The compact design of the OGS 600 and its low minimum distance to the floor of just 10 mm allow it to be integrated even in flat vehicles.
