Red Dot Awards 2020 launched

The Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design started a new round on 24 February 2020. Designers, agencies and companies can register their brands and creative work until 5 June.

The Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design entered a new round on 24 February 2020. Designers, agencies and companies have until 5 June to submit their brands and creative work to one of the world's most prestigious design competitions in order to impress the Red Dot jury with innovative ideas and creative solutions in the areas of „Brands“ and „Communication Design“.

Strong brands and creative communication projects

Last year, brands were able to enter the design competition for the first time. This means that the Red Dot Award has well-designed brand communication, which is considered a key factor for market success, as new focus of the competition highlighted. Once again this year, unique and special brands are invited to take part, with 36 sectors available to them in the „Brands“ category.

Also eindividual creative services are still an essential part of the competition. In the „Communication Design“ category, participants can submit their communication design work in 17 categories - from „Advertising“ and „Posters“ to „Packaging Design“ through to the design of „Annual Reports“, „Fair Stands“ and „Retail Design“. Categories from the field of digital media such as „Film & Animation“ and „Online“ as well as „Interface & User Experience Design“ are also available for registration.

Young design talents wanted

Young designers who submit their work in the „Communication Design“ category will receive a 10 % discount on the registration fee and a 20 % discount on the Winner Package as part of the Red Dot: Junior Award. This means that trainees, students and young professionals who graduated no more than two years ago will receive a discount of % on the Winner Package. Career start helped. The best work by a young designer is honoured with the Red Dot: Junior Prize which is endowed with 10,000 euros.

Individual assessment by an international jury

The Red Dot Award gives each participant the opportunity to have the quality of their submission individually assessed and reviewed by the expertise of the international jury. The panel of experts, consisting of 24 jurors, The jury, which is made up of a panel of experts, individually assesses all brands and creative works submitted to the design competition over the course of several days.

Various evaluation criteria relating to form, idea and impact play a role here and vary within the two categories of „Brands“ and „Communication Design“. Due to the internationality of the competition, the jurors can evaluate projects and brands from all over the world according to their country-specific differences.

If the participants are honoured, this shows that they are among the driving forces in the creative and brand industry. The award winners are honoured during the Red Dot Gala on 23 October 2020 honoured in Berlin.
