AIMCAL, the US-based Association of International Metallisers, Coaters and Laminators, has awarded Hazen Paper Company the 2020 Product of the Year Award for its Arctic Blue Gin packaging designed with flaming northern lights.
The packaging structure, original graphics and embossing were developed by Metsä Board, manufacturer of premium fresh fibre paperboard and a Metsä Group company. The striking packaging is made from the lightweight, strong folding boxboard quality MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright 350 g/m2.
„The production of a holographic packaging is complex and places high demands on the material. It must have a high degree of smoothness and rigidity in order to achieve perfect adhesion of the large holographic surface to the board. The Metsä Board team did a great job here,“ explains John Hazen, Managing Director of Hazen Paper Company. „The board has a uniformly smooth surface, folds exceptionally well and offers economic and ecological advantages. The quality is therefore ideally suited for transfer metallisation and ideal for a High-end graphics application with positive radiance."
Inspired by the Northern Lights
