The drugstore chain dm is switching the packaging of its own-brand toothpaste Dontodent to monomaterial.
Dontodent toothpaste tubes are already recyclable, as they are made from just two types of plastic - one for the tube and one for the lid.
Now the dm brand is going one step further: starting with the Brilliant White toothpaste and the Sensitive toothpaste, Dontodent is switching numerous toothpaste tubes to monomaterial to make them even more sustainable.
The tube and lid are now made from the same plastic, namely polyethylene (PE). The aluminium seal that protects the unopened tube will also be switched to polyethylene plastic with immediate effect.
In future, monomaterial will be used for all 125 ml Dontodent toothpastes.
