When selecting the winners, the jury paid particular attention to their transformation potential for a sustainable future.
dm extends its environmental promise
With the Pro Climate product range, dm has become the first company to develop 14 branded products that are not only climate-neutral, but also environmentally neutral for the first time. These include, for example, products from the alverde natural cosmetics, Denkmit and Sundance own brands. Together with the Technical University of Berlin and the manufacturing partners, the impact of the products on the environment was comprehensively analysed and reduced. Remaining, unavoidable dm offsets the environmental impact of the production and packaging disposal of its products in five environmental categoriesClimate change, eutrophication, acidification, summer smog and ozone depletion.
Through renaturalisation projects in Germany, dm is helping to restore the ecological balance in cooperation with HeimatErbe. On the shelf, the new products are characterised by the Standardised packaging design and the Eye-catching integrated Pro Climate logo very easy to identify. With this product range, dm is expanding its environmental promise and encouraging customers to shop even more consciously and make their everyday lives even more environmentally friendly. This commitment has now been recognised by the award of the German Sustainability Award honoured.
The Pro Climate brand was already recognised as a Green Brand Germany in August 2021. The Green Brand seal of approval is awarded to brands that are committed to sustainability and environmental protection and prove this in a strict certification process.
