Haldiram's Nagpur fills long-life ethnic drinks on SIG systems

The Indian snack food manufacturer Haldiram's Nagpur is on course for growth and is opening its own production facility for long-life dairy products. The new plant was equipped with filling technology from SIG.

With the new production plant and an investment of around 12 million euros, Haldiram's Nagpur aims to further expand its presence in existing markets. This is the first time the company has invested in its own plant. for filling products into aseptic carton packs where it is commissioning a CFA 1224 high-speed filling machine from SIG for combiblocXSlim carton packs.

Further growth planned

SIG's filling technology offers high flexibility with diverse options in the area of packaging volumes, according to the manufacturer. In addition, SIG's high-speed filling machine, which can fill 24,000 carton packs per hour, will enable further growth in the coming years.

The Indian company initially had its products filled via co-packing and now wants to develop a Even wider range of ethnic dairy products and milk alternatives to the market, utilising the existing retail and distribution networks.

Haldiram's builds franchise networks

The product range will include a type of buttermilk called Matka Jhatka, which in combiblocXSlim 200ml packs as well as Aam Panna, Jal Jeera and a range of lassi products. Further innovations are in the pipeline.

Haldiram's is also in the process of setting up franchise networks in several Indian cities to offer everything from sweets and confectionery to Namkeens, juices and more. The filling technology from SIG also offers the possibility here, Filling products with piece content such as milkshakes with pieces of dried fruit or nuts or juices with fruit bits.
