From 1 March, Dr Alexander Kronimus will be the new Head of the Climate Protection and Circular Economy Division at the plastics producer association Plastics Europe Deutschland. The new appointment is also accompanied by the renaming of the division, which previously operated under the name People and Environment.
Alexander Kronimus, PhD in geology with a specialisation in environmental sciences, takes over this function from Dr Ingo Sartorius, who is the Association at the end of 2021 in favour of the industry think tank BKV.
„Plastics producers are striving for the transformation to a climate-neutral circular economy. Our member companies are committed to this mission and are currently making targeted investments in the recycling of products and sustainable production processes. All of this is now reflected in the new name of the department,“ explains the new division manager.
Alexander Kronimus also endeavours to deepen Alliances with other associations, political players, research and industry on. It intends to translate the latest scientific findings into recommendations for action for greater environmental and climate protection in dialogue with the association's interest groups.
The 46-year-old has many years of experience in the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI) as a consultant for the energy industry.
