The Mosca Group is strengthening its management team with a sustainability expert with experience in setting up new, international corporate structures. Leo Maiello will be responsible for the Consumables division in future.

With Leo Maiello, the company founded in 2021 Mosca Strap & Consumables GmbH an experienced manager with a focus on the conceptualisation and development of new business areas. The business graduate has held leading positions within the Schwarz Group, including driving forward the introduction of a dual system. In his new position as Managing Director of the young Mosca subsidiary Strap & Consumables, he will responsible for the consumables division within the Group. He is particularly interested in a comprehensive view of sustainability - from a resource-conserving circular economy to the avoidance of CO2-emissions through to the use of alternative materials.

„With his many years of professional experience in retail, Leo Maiello is very familiar with the development and scaling of new business areas and we are delighted to have him on board.“

Mosca Strap & Consumables will be In addition to tape material, other consumables from a single source offer. „The last two years in particular, with a global shortage of raw materials, have clearly shown that our customers value our reliable Complete system comprising strapping machines, services and strapping material. We see great potential for growth here over the next few years,“ explains Simone Mosca. Leo Maiello will drive this growth as the new Managing Director.

Planning security for Mosca customers

During his time as Managing Director of the Schwarz Group's PreZero Dual division, he was involved in establishing a closed recycling loop within the globally active group of companies. In the process, he also learnt Mosca as a co-operation partner.

„What impressed me about Mosca, then as now, was how consistently the understanding of sustainability runs through all areas of the company - from the development of energy-saving machines to our own resource-saving production and recycled consumables.“

Leo Maiello also sees this holistic approach as the basis of his new work. „We are currently putting a lot of energy into calming the tense supply chains in order to give our customers a lot of planning security,“ he explains. „Our long-term focus is clearly on sustainability at the end of the packaging line. In addition to the use of recycled materials, such as Mosca's PET strapping, we also see the potential of alternative, plant-based materials.“ Leo Maiello is also looking forward to working on new products and approaches, for example with the Movietec division, whose stretch wrappers have complemented the portfolio since 2021.
