Politicians, researchers and business leaders have been invited to a new strategy conference to be held in autumn in conjunction with the Scanpack packaging trade fair in Gothenburg.
„The Scanpack Summit is intended to discuss the urgent issues of the transition,“ says trade fair manager Anna-Lena Freiberg. She sees the summit as a strategy conference aimed at decision-makers in the packaging industry.
The Scanpack Summit aims to bring together researchers and politicians with decision-makers, thought leaders and end customers from the packaging industry.
Annika Persson is a business developer at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre and is working on the Scanpack Summit concept. She believes that the entire packaging industry needs to deepen the topic of sustainability in its business and development strategies.
The Scanpack Summit covers the topics and all their perspectives: from the researchers' point of view to the industry's requirements for profitability and what is politically possible. The event is the result of a demand-led initiative that came from the exhibitors. The organisers believe that until now there has been no place where strategic issues in the industry could be discussed.
"We see how easily polarisation and different theories about what is best for the future arise, for example in the choice of materials. At the same time, there is a desire to meet across borders and find new ways to work together on critical future issues such as sustainability, climate change and circular solutions.".
Scanpack is the leading Scandinavian meeting place for the packaging industry. This year the trade fair will take place from 4 to 7 October at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre in Gothenburg. The new Scanpack Summit initiative will take place on the first day.
