The Empack Hamburg trade fair will take place on 2 and 3 June 2026 at the Hamburg Messe grounds. Organiser Easyfairs, together with the parallel events Logistics & Automation and all about automation, expects more than 320 exhibitors. The focus will be on packaging solutions, automation, and the impact of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

The Empack Hamburg is aimed at trade visitors from industry, logistics, and supply chain management. According to the organisers, the trade fair will present current developments concerning sustainable packaging, labelling systems, and automated packaging processes in a practical way. Together with the parallel trade fairs for intralogistics and industrial automation, an interdisciplinary format is created that particularly addresses the integration of packaging, material flow, and digitalisation.

PPWR as a central industry theme

A key focus of the trade fair is on regulatory requirements stemming from the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The presentation programme on the so-called Insights Stage will, among other things, address the question of what consequences the new specifications will have for packaging manufacturers and users.

The announced presentations include „PPWR – The Clock is Ticking. Are You Ready?“ by Sonja Bähr, Director Business Development at Berndt+Partner Creality GmbH. Furthermore, topics such as sustainable packaging technology, digital product passports, and trademark protection are to be covered.

Packaging technology and materials in focus

According to the organisers, the trade fair covers a wide spectrum of packaging technologies. Among the items to be showcased are packaging materials, protective and transport packaging, labelling and marking systems, and automated packaging solutions. Announced exhibitors include Antalis Verpackungen, Cyklop Global Packaging Solutions, Herma, Storopack and Yamaton Paper.

Easyfairs particularly highlights the practical nature of the event. In contrast to large international trade fairs, Empack Hamburg focuses on manageable structures and short distances. This is intended to give trade visitors the opportunity to specifically compare solutions for concrete operational requirements and to talk directly with manufacturers.

Synergies with intralogistics and automation

By holding the event in parallel with Logistics & Automation and all about automation, Easyfairs primarily aims to strengthen the connection between packaging technology, robotics, and material flow. This would allow companies to consider solutions across complete process chains – from packaging and internal transport to industrial automation.
