Sustainability has become an important concern for consumers. One of the biggest challenges in the diverse confectionery and snacks sector is producing sustainable packaging with the same level of protection as the conventional version.
Also SP Group recognises this requirement. For the company, sustainability is not just a trend: since the introduction of its environmentally friendly SOL film with a strong barrier in 2009, sustainability has been continuously improved. As a pioneer in this field, it offers functional and, above all, sustainable solutions.
Made from a single material, the PE HB ECO film is recyclable and has a strong barrier for optimum preservation of the product until it reaches the consumer. PP HB ECO also withstands the high temperatures required for heat treatment to optimise the preservation of certain foods.

Rigid packaging for confectionery too
Rigid packaging is becoming increasingly important in the confectionery sector, especially trays, which can ensure that the product arrives in the best possible condition.
SP Group relies on rPET, a thermoformable film that consists of 100 % recycled post-consumer material (of which > 50 % from used trays). The film itself is also 100 % recyclable. A sustainable solution that can be combined with the SOL-EFFICIENT lid.

In addition to sustainability, design plays a decisive role. Nowadays, packaging is an important differentiator on the shelf and a medium for marketing campaigns. SP Group offers the perfect solution: digital and offset printing with high-quality results and a more environmentally friendly process. Not forgetting the possibility of customising formats such as the stand-up pouch, which is in high demand due to its versatility, and zipper closures that allow the contents to be stored for later consumption.
