Sustainable refill bar for hairdressing salons

Following a test phase, Henkel's Authentic Beauty Concept brand is bringing the Refill Bar to hairdressing salons. Customers can refill their bottles.

To make a visit to the hairdresser a sustainable experience, Henkel's Authentic Beauty Concept brand is bringing a refill station to hairdressing salons following a test phase. Customers can refill their bottles at the Refill Bar. The packaging is also made from recycled plastic.

Based on extensive feedback from hairdressers, the new Authentic Beauty Concept is now launching the „second generation“ of the refill station. The new „Refill Bar“ is Smaller, more compact and easier to handle than its predecessor model. With the further development of the refill station, even more hairdressing salons should be able to use the Authentic Beauty Concept refill station in a simple and uncomplicated way.

The idea is simple - customers bring their empty bottle back to the salon to refill it at the Refill Bar, thereby contributing to a better environment. The product is filled into a 250ml bottle made from 90 per cent recycled material. The bottles are made of PCR plastic. A label is then applied to the bottle made from Forest Film material glued, the first wood-based label material on the market (certified by ISCC). When the bottle is empty at home, customers bring it back to the salon and it is refilled and reused.

The Refill Bar not only looks good, it also works with recyclable 5-litre gallons made from 50 percent recycled plastic. With the help of reusable pumps, the product is pumped out and stored in bottles made from 90 per cent recycled material. bottled. Each refill bottle can be reused at least five times, which means that at least 83 per cent less plastic is required.

“It's high time people realised how important it is to look after the environment. We need to change the way we work in the hairdressing salon and also how our customers deal with plastic. Many of our clients decided to use the Refill Bar because it is new and interesting and they are curious - they also ask a lot of questions about it. This helps us as a salon to position ourselves and bring customers into the salon - because the Refill Bar makes us different and special. This creates great added value for us.“
