At Paris Packaging Week, Weener Plastics is presenting its Ultimate Spray System with an aerosol cap that is 100 per cent recyclable.

Weener Plastics is presenting a new product at Paris Packaging Week. The company has developed a more sustainable aerosol cap that is 100 per cent recyclable. As part of the Ultimate Spray System, it is also removable and made of mono-material.

With a focus on sustainability and functionality, the Weener Plastics (WP) has developed a spray system for aerosol spray caps with insert: the Ultimate Spray System (USS). This Patented two-part product technology offers the performance of well-known and proven conventional spray caps. The company is now presenting the new product for the first time at Paris Packaging Week from 29 to 30 June 2022.

To achieve fine spray patterns for specific application requirements, aerosols often use a spray cap with an insert. Traditionally, the inserts are made of polymethyl methacrylate (POM), which cannot be recycled. The company has developed the USS with a polypropylene (PP) insert as a solution to the problem. The PP spray cap, including the PP insert, can be 100 per cent recycled in normal waste streams become. In order to further increase the circulation capacity, the Spray cap also available in recycled PP (rPP/PCR).

The spray cap can be easily removed from the aerosol container before disposal. Thanks to an intuitive function, the finger button can be lifted, whereupon the housing of the spray cap can be torn open and removed. The separate spray cap and the aerosol container can then be disposed of in the appropriate waste stream. which ensures effective recycling.

This means that a variety of different designs and customisations possible, to increase the brand's recognition value or to stand out from the competition. Both the insert and the housing can be designed in different colours. The Caps fit on standard aluminium and tinplate aerosol containers and can be processed on standard filling lines.
