At the Print & Digital Convention in Düsseldorf in June, the special products that can result from a co-operation were demonstrated: Four creative agencies joined forces with Koehler Paper and Langebartels & Jürgens to design luxury packaging made from recycled paper for watch manufacturer Mühle-Glashütte.
How can customers be given a special unboxing experience? By making the packaging an eye-catcher. This can be achieved through the motif, the design or by refining individual elements. The co-operation project between the companies Koehler Paper, Mühle-Glashütte, Langebartels & Jürgens and four creative agencies shows that there are no limits to creativity when it comes to design.
Sustainable luxury as a challenge
The task of redesigning the packaging for a luxury watch brand is anything but simple. Sustainability and recyclability are the key requirements for the packaging, which Koehler developed together with the project partners. The four creative agencies Forteam Kommunikations GmbH, Scholz&Friends, Lehanka Kommunikationsagentur GmbH and AudioLogo GmbH are redesigning the packaging for the luxury watch brand. You create a special unboxing experience for the customer. For the project partners, this idea is ‚sustainable premium packaging par excellence‘.
On 22 and 23 June 2022, the Print & Digital Convention trade fair in Düsseldorf entered its fifth round. The organisers, the Fachverband Medienproduktion (f:mp) in cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf, welcomed over 1,200 visitors to the Congress Center Düsseldorf. The concept of the congress trade fair was perfect for presenting the high-quality mock-ups of the luxury packaging. Each agency had the opportunity to present the mock-ups produced by Langebartels + Jürgens especially for this trade fair to interested visitors.
The conclusion of the project partners is positive. „Our presence at the trade fair was a complete success for us. We had many interesting discussions and were able to show interested visitors the concepts for our new ecological watch packaging,“ says Thilo Mühle, Managing Director of Mühle-Glashütte. One week after the official launch of the ecological luxury packaging, the case, including a newly developed Mühle wristwatch, will be exhibited at the Koehler Paper stand at Fachpack in Nuremberg this autumn.
