Mondi, Essity and Dow have joined forces to make secondary packaging for feminine hygiene products more sustainable. The result is packaging made from recycled and balanced biomass materials that is also recyclable itself. 

The renewable and recycled materials used in the packaging of MondiThe partnership between Essity and Dow aims to reduce the use of fossil-based materials. Essity's sanitary towels were previously packaged in pouches that were already made from 50 per cent renewable materials. However, research and testing by Mondi led to the recommendation of a new solution that meets Essity's packaging targets: to use Work towards 100 per cent recyclability and use up to 85 per cent biomass, renewable or recycled material in all bagsup to 25 per cent of which is recycled plastic.
