Recyclable child safety lock for packaging blisters

Food-optimised adhesion promoter film

A new PP-MSA-based adhesion promoter film offers optimum protection for sensitive products and can be laminated onto sheet metal or aluminium without adhesives thanks to thermal lamination. This eliminates the need to apply an adhesive layer using the cold pressing process, which Lower manufacturing costs, a more favourable overall energy balance and therefore more environmental friendliness with it. Alternative to aluminium lids

Food manufacturers who want to completely dispense with aluminium packaging components in future can use the new peel film for blanks applications. Product innovation in the field of child safety locks

The idea was to protect potentially dangerous products packaged in blister packs with a reliable childproof lock. For Etimex As a supplier of recyclable PP monoblisters, it made sense to add a new feature to the product that won the German Packaging Award in 2021: a peel-push film that is easy to remove, but not too easy. The newly developed peel layer enables adhesion to the laminating BOPP film (biaxially oriented polypropylene) with unrestricted push-through capability. This combination of both films results in child-resistant packaging, as it can only be opened in two steps and is therefore difficult for children to open.

The mono peel-push film is suitable for use with pharmaceutical products, hygiene articles and hazardous household products such as batteries, dishwasher tabs (image) or adhesives. It is fixed using thermal lamination, and processing on FFS systems ensures effective production processes, including weight savings and the ability to recycle the complete packaging by type.
