Bio-Circular EVAL and Co.

To promote innovation, Kuraray has set up the Innovation Networking Centre and is presenting it to an international audience at K 2022.

Kuraray has established the Innovation Networking Centre (INC) to promote innovation worldwide and across its entire product portfolio. It will be presented to an international audience for the first time in Düsseldorf and is intended to promote networking and dialogue across Kuraray's various products and business units and intensify cooperation with its many customers and partners around the world.

Another highlight will be the introduction of „Bio-Circular EVOH“ from the wide range of sustainable materials. It adds further value to the company's recyclable EVAL EVOH barrier resins in packaging applications. Curaray is the first manufacturer of EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers) to receive a corresponding ISCC-Plus certificate (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) for the biocircular ethylene monomer in its supply chain. More Sustainability and recyclability are explicit requirements of customers in the food, cosmetics and healthcare industries.

EVAL acts as an excellent Gas barrier for film packaging of perishable foods, as flavour protection or as an efficient functional barrier for organic solvents or potential contaminants, as can occur in food cartons made from recycled corrugated cardboard or recycled plastic.
