Metsä Board wins Finnish Circular Economy Award and Quality Award

Metsä Board once again won the Finnish Circular Economy and Quality Award and impressed the jury with its corporate goals.

Metsä Board has won the Finnish Circular Economy and Quality Award for the second year in a row. The company's corporate goals and strategy implementation were particularly emphasised and praised.

Metsä Board has once again achieved a double success in the Excellence Finland competition, winning both the Finnish Circular Economy Award (prize in the circular economy category) and the Finnish Quality Award. Both awards will be presented at the Awarded based on the evaluation principles of the international EFQM model (European Foundation for Quality Management). The company already won both awards last year. In a recent press release from the competition organisers, Juha Ylä-Autio, CEO of Excellence Finland, explained that the Quality Award is presented to the best company in Finland that has proven to implement its strategy at the highest level.

„We are very pleased with how positively our team at Metsä Board received the recommendations for further development from the previous year. The excellent evaluation result makes this more than clear.“

In justifying its decision, the jury stated that Metsä Board's processes for defining corporate goals, strategy implementation and performance monitoring and reporting are effective and target-oriented. The company is constantly working to strengthen the areas of sustainability and the circular economy as part of its corporate culture. Metsä Board has also successfully developed effective forms of cooperation in its business environment. This is also reflected in the company's performance, business results and competitive strength.

„In our role as a pioneer in the fossil-free circular economy, we are required to constantly rethink our approaches and implement new operational models. The previous year's assessment provided us with many valuable insights into the areas in which we can still improve. We have been working on this over the past year. This year's award shows that we have taken another step forward, and that is thanks to all our employees.“
